Honoring Our Nation's Heroes

Students from Saints Cyril and Methodius Elementary School marched in Deer Park’s Memorial Day Parade, organized by the Edward K. Peisker Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 5348 in Deer Park. The weather made for a perfect day, filled with memorials of our fallen heroes and many SSCM students joined, some bearing SSCM’s school banner, some joining other local groups in which they participate: girl scouts, twirlers and more. Our own Veteran priest, ex-Marine Father Dennis Suglia was on hand, marching with the Deer Park Fire Department. Commemorative wreaths were placed by a number of local groups at the JFK monument.
