Students in Ms. Askinazy’s human nutrition classes at North Babylon High School harvested radishes to donate to the Bulldog Cupboard, the district’s food pantry. The radishes mark the first harvest of the season and are part of an ongoing project the human nutrition students are taking part in.Earlier this year, students planned a garden plot and started seeds in raised garden beds at the high school. They also completed nutritional profiles on the produce they’ve grown, while finding healthy recipes. The project is helping to provide fresh produce to community members and families in need.
