Lenten Lessons on Forgiveness

Saints Cyril and Methodius School students prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation

As the start of the Lenten season is upon us, second graders at Saints Cyril and Methodius School in Deer Park have been preparing their hearts and minds for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Second grade teacher, Ms. Bravo has been reading and discussing Bible stories and parables regarding the lesson of forgiveness. One that stood out at them was the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus, the Tax Collector. Students harnessed their artistic skills and re-created the scene, with Jesus calling Zacchaeus down from the Sycamore tree, reminding them all that we, too, can ask for forgiveness.
