Longtime Suffolk Auxiliary Police Volunteer Dies From Coronavirus

The Deer Park resident passed away from the virus at 55. A memorial fund was created in his honor, raising over $32K for charity.

DEER PARK, NY β€” Anthony DeNoyior, a Deer Park resident who served as Suffolk auxiliary police captain, died from coronavirus on April 19. He was 55. DeNoyior was a volunteer with the department’s auxiliary police since for nearly 18 years. He also served in the department's First Precinct in West Babylon.

"COVID-19 has taken the lives of far too many people and now it has directly hit the department with the loss of a member in our police family," Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart said. "Anthony DeNoyior spent close to two decades volunteering his time with the Auxiliary Police which speaks volumes to his selflessness and love of his community. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time."

Earlier this week, members of the police department lined up and said a final goodbye to DeNoyior as he was laid to rest. He is survived by his wife, Stacy, and two sons, ages 22 and 17.
