Loose Dog Killed, Another Caught After Biting 2 Women: Police
The women were hospitalized after being bitten by dogs running loose in Wyandanch for over two hours Monday morning, Suffolk police said.
WYANDANCH, NY β A loose dog was killed and another was caught after they bit two women in Wyandanch Monday morning, according to Suffolk police.
Between 6 a.m. and 6:55 a.m., multiple people called 911 about loose dogs near New Avenue, West Booker Avenue and Straight Path.
A 24-year-old woman was bit in the leg and treated for minor injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said. A 78-year-old woman was bit on the calf by one of the dogs on Ridge Road and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

At 8:15 a.m., police received a call the dogs were on Little East Neck Road and Ridge Road. One dog charged at an officer and was shot and killed on Ridge Road, police said. The other dog was caught and taken into custody by Babylon Animal Control.
