Man, 7-Year-Old Daughter Attacked By Pit Bull In North Babylon

The man reportedly had to get stitches on his leg after the dog bit him last week.

NORTH BABYLON, NY β€” A pit bull reportedly attacked a Long Island man and his 7-year-old daughter while walking in North Babylon last week.

Suffolk police confirmed that a person was bitten in the leg last Thursday. He went to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for treatment.

The dog and owner were not when police arrived.

Christin Pinto told Eyewitness News that he and his daughter were the two involved in the incident while on Barnum Street near Belmont Elementary School.

Pinto stated that the dog's owner, who was with two children, saw the incident and asked Pinto and his daughter if they were bitten, according to the report. The owner then stated he would put the dog away and come back, but never returned.

Pinto had to get stitches and his rabies shot, while his daughter only had minor scrapes from falling off her bike, Eyewitness News reports.
