Man Killed After Being Struck By Train In Deer Park
The 50-year-old was fatally struck by the train Tuesday afternoon.
DEER PARK, NY β A 50-year-old man was killed after being struck by an LIRR train in Deer Park Tuesday afternoon, an MTA spokesperson confirmed.
The 4:11 p.m. train that departed from Ronkonkoma and was due into Penn Station at 5:39 p.m. fatally struck the man at Carlls Straight Path at 4:40 p.m.
LIRR service was temporarily suspended between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma. In addition, Carlls Straight Path was closed for about two hours. The Deer Park Fire Department also responded to the scene.
