Man Kills Wife, Shoots Self In Deer Park: Police

Paul Bonny and his wife, Cathiana Bonny, were found with gunshot wounds at their Deer Park home, police said.

DEER PARK, NY β€” A Deer Park man killed his wife then shot himself Monday night, according to Suffolk police.

Officers responded to a 911 call at 8:50 p.m. reporting a man and woman with gunshot wounds inside an Eastwood Avenue home, police said.

When officers arrived, they found 34-year-old Paul Bonny and his wife, 35-year-old Cathiana Bonny, with gunshot wounds, police said. Their two daughters, ages 12 and 6, were inside a car in the driveway and were unharmed, police said.

Detectives determined Paul shot Cathiana and then himself, police said.

Cathiana was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. Paul was taken to a local hospital and was in serious condition, police said.

The daughters were placed in the custody of a family member, authorities added.

Detectives asked anyone with information on the shooting to call the homicide squad at 631-852-6392.
