LIU Post's Matty Beccaris was named the college's male Athlete of the Week. The former North Babylon High School lacrosse star enjoyed a big week during the last week of March for the Pioneers. Playing No. 5 NYIT at home on March 23, Beccaris had 5 goals and 2 assists in LIU Post's 15-5 win. He followed that strong performance this past Saturday with 4 goals and 1 assist in the Pioneers 14-6 win over Mercy. On the season, Beccaris leads LIU Post with 25 goals and 33 total points. A four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team while at North Babylon, in 2012 he set a school record for goals in a game with 10, and scored a school record 61 goals during his senior season.
