North Babylon Students Perform In LISFA Chamber Festival

Three North Babylon High School students performed in the Long Island String
Festival Association (LISFA) Chamber Festival on Friday, May 21. The ensemble, called the
Tritone Trio is made up of senior violinist Thomas Bruggemann, senior cellist Ruby
Haberman and sophomore violist Gavin Aquino. They performed the Schubert Trio in
Bb (D. 471).

All three students are accomplished members of the North Babylon High School
music community. Aquino received a perfect score of 100 for his NYSSMA level six All-
State audition. This fall, Bruggemann will be studying music education at SUNY
Fredonia whereas Haberman will be studying music education at Adelphi University.

The LISFA hosts festivals throughout the year in Suffolk and Nassau counties. The
organization brings together Long Island string teachers, students, parents and conductors
to support and celebrate the power of music.
