Longer Wait For Starbucks, Concert On The Beach Wednesday

- For North Babylon residents looking forward to their own Starbucks in town, the wait will go on a bit longer. The newly constructed coffee shop at the corner of Deer Park Avenue and Woods Road "will now be opening in early fall," a Starbucks spokesperson told Patch Monday.
- Catch Desert Highway, an Eagles Tribute band, perform with Milagro at 7 p.m. at Overlook Beach in Babylon. The concert is a benefit for the Town of Babylon Chiefs Association Hurricane Relief Fund. A donation of $5 per car is recommended.
- Nearby, 46-year-old old Dix Hills man Robert Mayer remains missing. His car was found parked at the Deer Park train station. Him family is desperately searching for him. Find the latest information here.
- In case you missed it, students from SS. Cyril & Methodius organized a food drive Sunday to benefit a local outreach program. Generous shoppers at Stop & Shop on Commack Road in Deer Park filled four carts with boxes and cans of food.
