Stop & Shop Strike Vote Postponed

Union representing more than 1,000 workers said it continues working to find "mutually agreeable solutions."

Shoppers at the Deer Park Stop & Shop will not see any changes to current in-store services as the union representing more than 1,100 workers with the grocery store chain has again postponed a strike vote.

In a statement released late Monday, the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union said the vote was delayed while the union continues working to find β€œmutually agreeable solutions to remaining bargaining issues.”

UFCW Local 342, which represents meat, seafood and deli workers at Stop & Shop stores throughout Long Island as well as the five boroughs of New York City, originally planned to hold a strike vote this past Friday. That vote was initially delayed until Monday.
