Storm Wallops Deer Park-N. Babylon, Many Still Without Power

A severe thunderstorm rumbled through Long Island Thursday night. Check out some photos of the damage in the article.

DEER PARK-NORTH BABYLON, NY - A severe storm slammed Long Island on Thursday, hitting areas like Deer Park and North Babylon particularly hard.

The area was hit with a serious thunderstorm along with 60 mph winds, causing downed trees and power outages all across the island.

In Deer Park there are 519 residents and in North Babylon there are 1,585 residents without power as of Friday morning, according to the PSEG power outage map. Power is expected to be fully restored by Saturday at 7:45 a.m.
