The Environmental-Recycling Club at Robert Moses Middle School in the North Babylon School District promoted and participated in Reuse-A-Shoe, a community service project sponsored by Nike.Over a one-week period, students donated more than 200 outworn athletic sneakers. As part of the national program, Nike grinds the shoes down and uses the material for surfaces such as tracks, playgrounds and tennis courts.
