Teacher Of The Week: Mr. Charles Kalinowski

NORTH BABYLON, NY — Everybody has a favorite teacher — maybe it's a teacher who went out of their way to make one student's day or a teacher who brightens up a classroom, whether virtually or in-person, every day.

One teacher who deserves a shout-out is Mr. Charles Kalinowski, a science teacher at Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon. He was nominated by Jill Zwiebel.

Here's what the Zwiebel had to say about Mr. Kalinowski:

Back in April I had COVID, my son's science teacher, Mr. Kalinowski, called my family to make sure they had groceries and everything they needed. My husband was grateful and surprised, a teacher cared so much, although my husband had everything under control, he was thankful to know that if it wasn’t someone cared enough to check. Mr. Kalinowski also sent an Edible arrangements to my family, it was very uplifting during such a difficult time. He would call to speak to my son during my illness and keep him upbeat and on task with school and his “Super Science class”. When my husband was ill he again called and check on my family. When my mother died in September he again was there for us with condolences and uplifting calls for my son. During this pandemic Mr. Kalinowski repeated called to keep my son motivated and on task. This is an extraordinary teacher!
