Teacher Of The Week: Ms. Laura​ Oddo

DEER PARK, NY — Everybody has a favorite teacher — maybe it's a teacher who went out of their way to make one student's day or a teacher who brightens up a classroom, whether virtually or in-person, every day.

One teacher who deserves a shout-out is Ms. Laura Oddo, a teacher at JQA Elementary School in Deer Park. She was nominated by Antonietta Cafiso.

Here's what the Cafiso had to say about Ms. Oddo:

"Mrs. Oddo is the best teacher ever" as my daughter Arianna would say! She's an amazing caring person who goes above and beyond for all her students. During this difficult time for every student, Kindergarteners have it tough. Most kids its their 1st year in school and being in Kindergarten we all know it’s difficult for children and well for parents. Mrs. Oddo has been there every step from consoling a child when their having a bad day to praising them when their doing a fantastic job! She is the overall prime example of a teacher anyone would want for their child! We are so fortunate to be able to have her as our kindergarten teacher!! A pandemic cant stop her!! Kudos to you Mrs. Oddo!!
