What's Open, Closed In Deer Park/North Babylon On Presidents Day

Presidents Day originally began in 1885 as a way to celebrate George Washington's birthday. Since then, it's become a way to celebrate all presidents, according to History.com. It is celebrated on the third Monday in February.

However, some people know it as a day off from work. Here's a list of which places will be open or closed for the holiday.

  • Schools: closed
  • State offices: closed
  • Suffolk County offices: closed
  • Library: open
  • Local government offices: closed
  • Banks: many are closed; check your local bank schedule
