If you're not hitting a Brooklyn pool or beach today, here are some other options to get you out of your air conditioned (we hope) livingroom.

1. Practice Your John Hancock. Let the kids celebrate Independence Day by making a plumed hat and signing a reproduction of the Declaration of Independence at the Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park. 1 to 4 p.m., $3 suggested donation.

2. All Aboard. Tour the 106-foot historical replica of the Clearwater, a shipping sloop that sailed the Hudson River in the 18th and 19th centuries. Speak with the captains, learn about environmental issues and experience the Hudson from up high. Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park.3 to 5 p.m. Attendance is free.
