A Dead Tree Goes In Brooklyn

New York City Parks Department to remove remaining Sandy-damaged trees.

The New York City Parks Department has decided that the storm-ravaged trees that have been hanging around since Superstorm Sandy blew through last October have to go, according the Brooklyn Daily website.

"Hurricane Sandy killed more than 20,000 trees citywide when it struck coastal areas in October, and those it didn’t kill outright were subject to the slow death of dehydration, as salt deposited from Sandy’s storm surges seeped into Kings County’s soil," the website reported. "These stricken trees pose a danger to the public as they waste away, threatening to drop branches on people’s heads when their boughs break."
