'Affordable' Flatbush Apartments Cost $2K A Month

New Yorkers need to earn between $66,858 and $111,020 a year to qualify for these "affordable" Flatbush one-bedrooms, city records show.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — The newest "affordable" Flatbush apartments to hit the city's housing lottery cost almost $2,000 a month and demand incomes of more than $68,000 a year, city records show.

Three one-bedrooms at 1519 New York Ave. that cost $1,950 became available, but only to New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the Area Median Income, through NYC Housing Connect on Monday, according to city records.

To qualify, a single person must bring in an annual income between $66,858 and $97,110 and two-person households must earn a combined annual salary between $66,858 and $111,020, the Housing Department website shows.

The five-story apartment complex between Farragut and Glenwood roads was built in 2018 after developer Jeffrey Zagelbaum filed plans in 2016 to demolish the single-family home that stood on the lot.

Amenities in the eight-family building include rooftop access, in-unit washer/dryer hookup, stainless steel appliances, virtual doorman and free wi-fi, according to the listing. Some apartments come with balconies.
