Affordable Flatbush Apartments Hit Housing Lotto

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Another batch of "affordably" priced Flatbush homes only available to people who meet steep income requirements hit the housing market Tuesday.

Eight new apartments at 986 Rogers Ave. are up for grabs, but only to people earning 130 percent of the Area Median Income, which is $97,110 for a single person, $111,020 for a couple and $124,930 for a family of three, city records show.

One studio costs $1,700 a month and is available to a single person who earns between $58,286 and $97,110 a year or a couple bringing in between $58,286 and $111,020, the listing shows.

Five one-bedroom apartments cost $1,995 a month and are available to a single person earning between $68,400 and $97,110 annually or a couple earning $68,400 and $111,020.

And two two-bedroom apartments that cost $2,300 a month are available to households with an annual income between $78,858 and $138,710.

Amenities include a gym, bike room, rooftop access, recreation room and laundry room that residents must pay to use.

New Yorkers who meet the city's income requirements have until July 24 to apply.
