'Affordable' Flatbush Apartments Hit NYC Housing Lotto
Find out if you earn enough to qualify for "affordable" Flatbush housing.
FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — The newest batch of "affordably" priced Flatbush apartments are available only to households with annual incomes between $73,000 and $150,000, city records show.
Six new apartments at 1248 and 1250 New York Ave. hit the NYC Housing Connect lottery are available only to New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the Area Median Income, the listings show.
That means a New Yorker bringing in $97,110 a year qualifies for one of two "affordable" one bedrooms, which go for $2,149 a month.

Four two-bedroom apartments cost $2,449 a month and are available only to households earning between $83,966 and $149,890 annually.
The apartments will be available via lottery until Sept. 16 and those interested can apply through the NYC Housing Connect website.

The building is within walking distance of the 2 and 5 train stations at Beverly Road and Newkirk Avenue. Amenities include a bike room and laundry room which residents must pay to use.
