Affordable Homes Up For Grabs In Brooklyn's Crystal Towers

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Affordable apartments at Crystal Towers, a massive Doe Fund development near Brooklyn College, are up for grabs on the city’s housing lottery.
New Yorkers who meet certain income requirements have until July 6 to apply for one of seven new apartments at 1345 Rogers Ave., according to the NYC Housing Connect website.
Each three-bedroom apartment costs $1,279-per-month and is available to households with an annual income between $43,852 and $72,600.

The 123-unit, 91,100-square-foot building was designed by DeLaCour Ferrara & Church, developed by the Doe Fund — a nonprofit that combats homeless in New York City — and 115 apartments are reserved for people that earn less than $19,050-a-year.
Building amenities include a garden, laundry room, bike storage, 24-hour security and social services, courtesy of the Doe Fund, for formerly homeless residents.
