Brooklyn Is Hosting a 'Mindful' Yoga Triathlon
"The world's kindest triathlon" hits Prospect Park in September.

The yoga lifestyle company Wanderlust 108 just announced they’re hosting a ”mindful triathlon” at the end of summer in Prospect Park. After running five kilometers, participants will complete in “an outdoor yoga experience and a guided meditation.”

However, ”unlike most triathlons,” say event planners, “we place community above competition, inner peace above power, and self-awareness above strength. We prefer slow food to fast run times. For us, winning is measured in laughs shared and new friends made.”
The event will also include a dance party and a hooping sesh and some spiritual guidance from a lady named Sage Rountree, because of course.

Here’s the deal: After paying $50 a pop, participants will take over Prospect Park from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 13 for an unprecedented running of the yogis. (So if navigating a forest of tree poses doesn’t sound like your ideal Sunday, avoid Prospect Park at all costs.)
