This should put your super problems into perspective! Last Friday, Gothamist ran an extensive profile on Herchin Ablai, the by-all-accounts authoritarian, kinda racist and totally creepy super who has exacted a decade-long ”reign of terror” over the brick apartment building at 60 Turner Place in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.
The kicker: Dude wears a body cam.
“You can’t go outside without him standing there like a police officer, staring at you,” George O’Connor, an 83-year-old building resident, told Gothamist.
“With the camera, it’s quiet now in the building,” Ablai told Gothamist.
The nightmare super has reportedly banned everything from jubilant noise-making to neighborly congregating to sunflower planting, and has turned 60 Turner into a dark and paranoid place where residents say they walk on ”pins and needles” and require medical treatment for super-related stress disease.
Yes, there’s more. Read the full story at Gothamist, and/or watch CBS2 stalk the super on his home turf, below.
