Chand Raat Baazar 2013 Comes to Coney Island Ave.

What's happening in Ditmas Park this evening.

Good afternoon Ditmas Park! Here's what's happening in Ditmas Park:

- Congratulations to Ditmas Park's 70th Precinct, which got a visit and some serious praise from Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly yesterday at the National Night Out Celebration.

- Alternate side parking rules are suspended today and Thursday for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which ends the monthlong sunrise-to-sunset fast of Ramadan. That should also explain the festivities along CIA over the next two days.

Here's what's happening today:

- The 5th Annual Chand Raat Baazar 2013 in Brooklyn will be held tonight on Coney Island Avenue between Foster and Avenue H. The public is welcome to attend this family-friendly shopping extravaganza in advance of Eid which starts around 5 p.m. and runs until around 2 a.m. "Celebrate Chand Raat with thousands of other Muslims," the event's facebook page says. Indeed, in 2011, an estimated 15,000 attended the event.

- Don't even think of driving anywhere near CIA tonight. See above.

- At the Cortelyou Library there's gaming for teens at 4 p.m. and a class to help people prepare for the U.S. citizenship exam at 5 p.m.

- At 4 p.m. at Lark, there's a Rolie Polie sing-along with Andrew.
