Ditmas Park's Missing Dogs Found Together Near Brooklyn College

Pickles ran away in August, Violet in 2016. Before their owners found them, they found each other.

DITMAS PARK, BROOKLYN – Pickles, the runaway dog who has been missing since August, was found this week hanging out with another pup who disappeared in 2016, animal rescuers announced.

Pickles was rescued near Brooklyn College and reunited with his family on Tuesday, months after the 7-year-old cattle dog mix ran away from a Wag! dog walker near Marlborough Road and Ditmas Avenue on Aug. 26, according to activists with Lost and Found Pets in Brooklyn.

"I am overwhelmed with joy right now," wrote owner Jasmin Cruz. "I am so thankful for the team of folks that brought him home."

Pickles was tracked down by dog-finding professionals, the Carmen Brothers and Teddy Henn, who found two pups on the hunt for one, according to the Lost and Found Facebook post.

A black dog named Violet, who ran away from her foster family near Cortelyou Road and East 17th Street in November 2016, was hanging out with Pickles and is now being cared for at Sean Casey Animal Rescue, according to the recent Facebook Post.
