Flatbush Criminal Who Stole $12,300 From Truck Still At Large
A woman entered an unlocked delivery truck and stole the money on Oct. 14, 2016, police said.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Police are still looking for a woman who stole $12,300 out of a delivery truck last fall before making her getaway in a gray Hyundai. The crime took place on Oct. 14, 2016, according to the NYPD, when the suspect went into a commercial delivery truck that was unlocked in front of 1427 Flatbush Ave., stole the money from an open safe, and took off.
This week, police released a photograph of the suspect and the vehicle she left the scene in (both above).
Detectives describe the suspect as an adult female last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark hooded winter jacket. The vehicle is a gray Hyundai Veracruz from between 2005 and 2012.

This crime took place in the NYPD's 70th Precinct, which patrols central and southern Flatbush. From Jan. 1 through Jan. 22, recorded major crimes in the 70th were collectively down about 11 percent compared to the same period last year, according to official police statistics. That drop included a decrease in recorded grand larcenies, with 35 through Jan. 22 of this year compared to 55 recorded during the same time frame in 2016.
