Flatbush Man Accused Of Sex Trafficking 2 Teen Girls: Brooklyn DA
Hakeem Bennett, 24, was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Tuesday on charges that he trafficked teen girls, prosecutors said.
FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A Flatbush man stands accused of prostituting two teenaged girls who had been reported missing for weeks, prosecutors said.
Hakeem Bennett, 24, was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Tuesday on sex trafficking charges for allegedly selling two girls, aged 15 and 17, from a Flatbush building, according to prosecutors.
“We allege that this defendant took advantage of two vulnerable young girls, trafficking them for money in exchange for sex," said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. "I am committed to rescuing and protecting our at-risk children and teens from predators who seek to abuse and exploit them.”

The NYPD launched an investigation in later September — after receiving an FBI tip — and an undercover cop reached out to Bennett on Oct. 3, prosecutors said.
The cop was directed to come to an East 29th Street building where the 15-year-old girl met him and took him to Bennett at a nearby house, prosecutors said.

Bennett, who was standing guard over the 17-year-old, said it would cost $250 to have sex with both girls, according to prosecutors.
Law enforcement quickly swooped in as the undercover cop, teens and Bennett left the building and locked him in handcuffs, said prosecutors.
Bennett could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted, was held on $250,000 bail and ordered to return to court on Jan. 8, prosecutors said.
