Islanders Legend Surprises Flatbush Kids With $30K Of Hockey Gear
Pat LaFontaine made the announcement in front of more than 100 boys and girls.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — More than 100 Flatbush kids were surprised by a New York hockey legend and $30,000 worth of hockey equipment.
Pat LaFontaine showed up at the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club in Flatbush on Wednesday afternoon. The gear will be used in connection with the Islanders Sticks & Skates program, which provides free ice skating and hockey lessons to kids in the community.
"The equipment will help us because you can’t play hockey without sticks and skates," 12-year-old Madison member Amanda said in a press release. "I learned how to play hockey this year and I am very excited to be able to use this equipment. My sister also wants to learn how to play ice hockey and I know having this equipment will help her learn."
