Man Killed Jay-Walking Across Cortelyou Road, Cops Say

A 56-year-old man died two days after he was struck by a Ford SUV in Ditmas Park, according to police.

DITMAS PARK, BROOKLYN — A man who was jaywalking on a busy Ditmas Park street was hit by an SUV and died days later, police said

The 2009 Ford SUV slammed into the 56-year-old man, who was crossing Cortelyou Road between Rugby and Marlborough roads, about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, said police.

Emergency responders found the man — whose name had not yet been released Friday — lying in street with serious head wounds and an injured foot, according to police.

He was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center where he later died, police said.

The 34-year-old Ford driver waited for police to come and was not charged with a crime, according to the NYPD.
