MIDWOOD, BROOKLYN — A masked man lifted $170,000 in cash and jewelry from a taxi medallion broker's safe last week, police said.
The hooded man broke into the medallion broker, which helps issue taxi cab licenses, at 1817 Coney Island Ave. around 1 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 through an unlocked back door, police said. He used some sort of large tool to jimmy open the safe once he got inside and took $170,000 of cash and jewelry before running away, according to police and video from inside the office.
Police said the man was last seen in all-dark clothing and had a mask covering his entire head and face.
