Midwood Mugger Knocks Down 88-Year-Old Woman To Steal Necklace

Police are looking for the man who attacked an elderly woman on East 21st Street Monday afternoon.

MIDWOOD, BROOKLYN — An 88-year-old woman was thrown to the ground this week by a mugger who ripped her necklace from her throat, police said.

The thief pushed the elderly woman to the concrete near the corner of East 21st Street and Avenue J at about 12:45 p.m. Monday, said police.

He fled after grabbing her necklace, police said.

Medics took the 88-year-old to New York Community Hospital where she was treated for pain and bruising, said police.

Police released images of the suspect late Wednesday night and asked anyone with information about this incident to contact the NYPD.
