Milk & Honey Opens On Newkirk Avenue

After passing its Health Department inspection yesterday, the Milk & Honey Café at 1119 Newkirk Ave. officially opened today.

Milk & Honey serves breakfast, lunch and coffee. It is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The coffee shop is owned by Yasser “Max” Habib, who also owns Qathra Café on Cortelyou Road. Habib worked on Milk & Honey for about one year, spending an entire month on design.

"I have to make it better than Qathra," he said.

The café's interior features a freeform chandelier, wooden walls and a living herb wall, which supplies ingredients for homemade sodas.
