New Chipotle Opening at Flatbush Junction Near Brooklyn College This Winter

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Apparently undeterred by a plunge in stock and sales after The Great E.Coli Scare of 2016, the Chipotle Mexican-food chain is planning to open three new locations in Brooklyn by the end of the year, according to a company spokeswoman.

One of the new Chipotles will be located along Williamsburg's booming Bedford Avenue corridor. Another will be located on the border of Park Slope and Prospect Heights, in the shell of a legendary neighborhood Dominican restaurant.

And a third is going in at 2166 Nostrand Ave. — right at the heart of the Flatbush Junction, a busy commercial area frequented by Brooklyn College students who attend classes a block or two away.

The location will open its doors near the end of December, a company spokeswoman said.

As noted by the BK Reader, the Flatbush Junction is already a cornucopia of millennial comforts. Resident chain outposts include Target, Starbucks, Applebee’s and more.

The Flatbush Junction Business Improvement District (BID), which works to help boost the local economy, has been pitching Chipotle's arrival as a win for the junction.

“We are pleased that other people have begun to recognize the potential that The Junction possesses and we’re excited to watch these businesses contribute to the community,” the BID's executive director told the Reader.
