New Website Launched For Flatbush Businesses
The Junction BID in Flatbush has launched a new interactive website for area entrepreneurs.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — The Flatbush Nostrand Junction Business Improvement District launched a new interactive website Wednesday morning. The site provides detailed area business data, lists existing businesses broken down by category, shows case studies of how local businesses renovated and improved their marketability, and contains an e-business hub, among its other features. The website is accessible through flatbushjunctionbid.com and exploreflatbush.com.
The Junction BID works with approximately 250 area businesses within its zone, executive director Kenneth Mbonu explained to Patch. The BID includes businesses between Farragut Place to Avenue H on Flatbush Avenue, and between Glenwood Road to Avenue A on Nostrand Avenue.
The website's classified listings show properties available for development, though Mbonu said the area's vacancy rate is just six percent. Area market data is provided on the site, on the same page where the BID has put together documents breaking down how local businesses made themselves more competitive by extending their hours, for example, or by engaging in historically-sensitive restorations.

The BID's new business map shows the names and addresses of area businesses, divided up by category (restaurants, shopping and retail, and entertainment among them). There's also a variety of information aimed at entrepreneurs looking for incubator space or assistance with navigating city permitting processes, and a community calendar that anyone can post events to.
