Pick Your Project: Name Your Favorite Participatory Budget Proposal

Lawmakers spent Monday tallying ballots from the last week's participatory budget vote, and results for the 45th District will be made public on Wednesday.

In the meantime we'd like to know what you think would be the best way to spend about $1 million of the district's discretionary funds.

Voters were able to select up to five projects across the region from a total of 13 in the following categories: public safety, education, community facilities, youth activities, parks and recreation, and transportation.

One project which would directly impact residents of Ditmas Park are sidewalk "bump outs" on Linden Ave. at the intersections of E. 51st and 52nd Streets. These would narrow the roadways while widening or extending the sidewalk so as to improve pedestrian safety.
