Polkadot-Clad Thief Hits Acclaimed Brooklyn Eatery: Cops

A burglar stole $600 in cash and goods from Hunger Pang, Prospect Park South's critically acclaimed Asian-American restaurant, police said.

PROSPECT PARK SOUTH, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for the large, polka dotted burglar who hit a critically acclaimed Asian fusion restaurant on Church Avenue.

A masked man was caught on camera bursting into Hunger Pang on Church Avenue and Stratford Road on June 24 about 4 a.m., police said Tuesday.

Surveillance video shows the thief — who sports a balaclava, black polkadot top, and black pants with white ankles — can be seen rifling through an envelope of cash.

Police estimate the burglar took about $600 in cash and restaurant equipment from Hunger Pang, an Asian-American eatery that's earned write-ups in the Wall Street Journal, Brooklyn Magazine and the Village Voice.

Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to contact police.
