Reminder: 'Emergency' Feb. 8 Flatbush Immigration Meeting
Councilman Jumaane Williams, State Sen. Kevin Parker, and other officials are hosting the Flatbush immigration forum.
FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Flatbush Councilman Jumaane Williams and State Senator Kevin Parker and other officials will host an immigration town hall on Feb. 8 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Flatbush YMCA, located at 1401 Flatbush Ave.
According to an online announcement, the event is called "State of Immigration: State of Emergency," and will focus on "immigration policy changes under President Donald J. Trump and how to prepare."
"The goal of the forum is to energize people to take action, organize and learn how to survive during the next four years," the announcement reads. As stated on the website, discussion topics include:

- Citizenship Family Based Petitions
- Immigration Fraud and Family Reunification
- DACA/DAPA Asylum Filing
- Fee Changes
- Temporary Protected Status (TPS)

Representatives from city agencies and local groups will be on hand to answer immigration-related questions, according to organizers. The gathering is being co-sponsored by the New York Immigration Coalition, the Council of People's Organization, the Haitian American Lawyers Association of New York, and the Haitian American Caucus.
