FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — The NYPD bomb squad investigated a suspicious package left outside a Flatbush synagogue and preschool that turned out to be a box of religious texts, officials said.

Emergency responders rushed to B'nai Jacob of Flatbush at East 32nd Street and Glenwood Road just after 8:10 a.m. Wednesday morning to investigate the box, said police and the FDNY.

The bomb squad examined the box left outside the synagogue — also home to the Glenwood Avenue Head Start preschool — and discovered it contained Hebrew literature, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.
