What's Coming to the Corner of Bedford and Tilden in Flatbush?
Could it be a mall? A car dealership? Maybe a medical center? The owners of the Flatbush property aren't saying.

FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Work is underway to totally transform an empty building at 2351 Bedford Ave. — but transform it into what isn't clear.
Those behind the "Bedford Tilden" project, Lior Avneri and Henry Weinstein, did not return messages left for them on Thursday, but a detailed project website calls for more than doubling the size of the building to 70,000 square feet.

That seems to keep with a rendering of the building's possible future exterior posted at the worksite, one slightly different from the website rendering, and in which the property is called "Brightpoint Plaza."

And yet, a work permit approved by the city on June 23rd and posted on the structure calls for adding another story and preparing the building to serve as a "proposed ambulatory treatment facility."
Internal prepatory work is ongoing, with work being done by heavy earth-moving equipment.

The property sits on the border of Community Boards 14 and 17, but staffers at both organizations said they were unfamiliar with the project. We'll update this post if and when we learn more.
