14 Photos From NYC Pride Parade 2016
Manhattan was decked out in rainbow Sunday as the biggest New York City pride parade in history celebrated love over hate.
Manhattan was a giant party celebrating love between all genders and people Sunday as the largest Pride Parade in New York City's history commenced down 5th Avenue. There were 32,000 marchers this year, among them organizations, politicians and corporations.
Cheers and bass-loaded club music from the parade floats could be heard blocks away from 5th Avenue, all the way from 36th Street south to Greenwich Village. People cheered, "Happy Pride!" to each other on the streets adjacent to the parade. It was rare that someone walking near 5th Avenue did not have a rainbow item of clothing on their person on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m., and the streets were peppered with DIY kiosks selling rainbow merchandise.
