21-Year-Old Allegedly Tries to Fund Crazy Night at Tribeca Hotel With Fake Card: Police

The man was arrested after a Roxy Hotel employee called Capital One to check the card, according to police.

TRIBECA, NY — It had all the makings of a fun Friday night — the swank location, friends, and, of course, libations. But a 21-year-old was arrested for allegedly using a fake credit card for his good time, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

A little after midnight on Saturday, Nov. 19, the man allegedly used the forged credit card at the Roxy Hotel at 2 Avenue of the Americas to buy alcoholic beverages and other services, police say. An employee called Capital One, which said the card had not been issued by them, according to the police report.

Upon further inspection of the card, it looked as if there were two credit card numbers on the front and a magnetic strip on the rear of the card, according to the police. Police arrested the Queens man that night, and he is accused of charging $1,580 on the card.
