Malibu Farm will open its seventh location at Pier 17 in South Street Seaport — the flashy new pier with rooftop concerts and a variety of new bars and restaurants. Founder Helene Henderson brings lunchtime dishes such as multi-grain pancakes, balsamic ginger skirt steak, and an acai bowl to the pier, with lunch service only for the first few weeks. Henderson said, "New York was the first place I called home when I moved to the U.S. from Sweden, so I feel honored to bring Malibu Farm to the place where it all started for me." Malibu Farm opened Sept. 4. It is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. everyday except Tuesday.

Coco Bistro

Bar Wayō
Pier 17, 89 South St.

Dave Chang opened another Momofuku restaurant at Pier 17 — Bar Wayō. Its name comes from the term wayo secchu, which means a "compromise between East and West," according to the restaurant's website. Sam Kang is the top chef alongside Dave Chang, who has taken on an advisory role in the project, per GrubStreet. Rather than Momofuku's iconic noodles, the restaurant is serving shrimp cocktail, a grilled fish sandwich, steak, among other snacks. The eatery is open Tuesday through Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and 4:30 p.m. to midnight for dinner.
