Asphalt Green Summer Camp Kids Help Raise $23,000 for Camp Scholarships for Local Children

Kids ages 4 to 14 at Asphalt Green's Upper East Side and Battery Park City campuses collected coins for camp scholarship fund

Kids at sports and fitness nonprofitAsphalt Green’s Summer Day Camp helped raise $23,000 during the nonprofit organization’s annual Coins for Campers coin drive. The money raised by campers ages 4 to 13 at Asphalt Green’s Upper East Side and Battery Park City campuses will fund Summer Day Camp scholarships for local children whose families do not have the means to pay camp fees.

The Coins for Campers campaign ran from July 17 to July 21, and children attending Summer Day Camp competed in groups to collect the most coins. The public also participated by donating coins in Coins for Campers buckets at each Asphalt Green location.

After a week of collecting change, fundraising at home, and even setting up lemonade stands to encourage support, the coins were counted on July 21. All proceeds will go to the Summer Day Camp scholarship fund, giving more kids the opportunity to have an incredible summer day camp experience.
