Coffee Spot By Day, Cocktail Restaurant By Night Opens In Tribeca
The eatery will also highlight Tribeca's art scene with monthly shows starting in September.
TRIBECA, NY — A new cafe by day and cocktail restaurant by night aims to showcase Tribeca's community of artists with monthly exhibits, highlighting local and international talents based in the highbrow neighborhood, said the restaurant's founders.
Couple Seong Choi and Minho Yang launched Noted Tribeca at 112 Hudson Street on Monday and designed the relaxed space to fuse the founders cultural and artistic roots into a Korean-inspired new American eatery, said Choi.
“The food is influenced from my Korean roots as I wanted to offer something that I know and hold close to my heart,” says Seong Choi, who also owns For:Ground coffee bar at Bryant Park with Yang. “I chose the location because my career actually started with art and have always been influenced by the art community in this neighborhood.”

Come September, Noted Tribeca will begin hosting art exhibits curated by Choi, who has a background in art consulting and a Masters Degree from Christie’s Education New York. Diners will be able to enjoy a meal and a show with a rotating line up of artists that has yet to be determined.
During the day, coffee nuts can sip on Counter Culture Coffee brews and Matcha, Chia and Turmeric lattes. Both the all-day and dinner menus are designed by Executive Chef Steven Song, formerly of Masa and ABC Kitchen, to offer a Korean flare to American classics.

The day time spread offers sourdough or gluten free toasts with gourmet toppings such as purple sweet potatoes — a Korean delicacy — ricotta cheese and lemon zest. Breakfast foodies can also dig into The Sweet Bowl, which pairs greek yogurt and granola with golden beets, locally-made banana jam and dill.
Noted Tribeca also offers several paninis, salads and a Korean-twist on portobello rice balls. Dinner plates include pork belly and avocado wrapped in butter lettuce, pasta with umami notes of creamy cod roe and nori, and Hamachi Crudo — often referred to as the Italian answer to sushi. The restaurant also serves up weekend brunch with elaborate sweet and savory waffles.
Up to 35 diners can chow down at long communal wooden tables on quirky mismatched furniture or sip seasonal cocktails on leather couches for a homey feel, said Choi.
“I wanted the space to feel like your living room but also have a sense of relaxed community,” says Choi. “Somewhere that you can meet new people, eat and drink, but is also versatile for day and night.”
Noted Tribeca is located at 112 Hudson Street between Franklin and N Moore streets. Open from 8 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
