Drag Queens Kick-Off Climate Solutions Installation On Gov Island
Human Impacts Institute launches its House of Solutions installation with a drag party.

GOVERNORS ISLAND, NY — A climate change-themed drag show will kick-off an artistic climate installation on Governor's Island Friday.
The Human Impacts Institute, a Brooklyn-based environmental organization that partners artists with scientists, is launching the "House of Solutions" installation Friday — with drag queens competing in a competition where "green reigns queen," the organization says.
Friday's event, called "Climate's A Drag," will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the House of Solutions, Nolan Park, House 4B on Governors Island.

Drag queens will perform climate solutions related themes . — including The Green New Deal, Plastic-Free Living and Becoming a Climate Activist.
The competition doubles as a live audition for the Human Impacts Institute's television program Climate's A Drag, where judges will choose a winner to develop and star in the TV show.

Madame Vivien V will be the Mistress of Ceremonies, with performers including Analee Fisher, Chiki Bella, Ellipsis Queen, Le Peep, Sophie-o-path, Vanity Q, among others.
The climate-centric installation at the House of Solutions will be open to the public on weekends from June through October, with changing sets from worldwide artists. The installation will focus on climate solutions.
