Fearless Girl, Charging Bull Statues Could Move, Report Says
The Charging Bull statue and its new companion the Fearless Girl could move from their current home near Wall Street, a new report says.

WALL STREET, NY — The Fearless Girl and Charging Bull statues could move from Wall Street to another spot in the city, according to a new report.
The iconic Charging Bull statue gained a new companion last year when the "Fearless Girl," a bronze statue of a defiant young girl, was installed across from the bull, which has guarded Wall Street since 1989.
The Fearless Girl, which was initially installed as a temporary piece, garnered immediate tourist attention. Now, the city is considering making the pair a permanent installation in NYC, and might even move both statues to a new location, according to a new report in Adweek.

Adweek spoke with anonymous sources who said that the statues could be moved to a more pedestrian-friendly location than the triangle-shaped median where they currently stand on Broadway near Wall Street.
A spokeswoman for Mayor Bill de Blasio's office said city officials were "discussing various approaches" for the Fearless Girl to remain permanently in the city.

"The message of the Fearless Girl statue has resonated with New Yorkers and visitors alike," spokesman Natalie Grybauskas said in a statement. "Its enthusiastic reception has been heartening, and we are discussing various approaches to ensure this statue continues to be a part of the city’s civic life."
The statue was installed in March 2017 by State Street Global Advisors, an asset management company, to draw attention to the firm's initiative to encourage more companies to include women on their boards.
State Street has been accused of hypocrisy by critics how have noted that in March the company had just five women on its 28-person leadership council. In September, the firm agreed to pay $5 million to settle discrimination claims from more than 300 female employees.
"Since we placed Fearless Girl in New York City on International Women’s Day last year, she has inspired millions around the world and drawn thousands of visitors," a spokeswoman for State Street said in a statement. "We are currently working with the Mayor’s Office to determine a permanent solution to keep Fearless Girl in New York City so she can continue to promote the power of having more women in leadership."
The Fearless Girl's current permit allows her to remain in place through the end of the month.
