The Financial District Is Getting A 35-Story Residential Tower
The Broadway building will bring nearly 300 apartments to the heart of the Financial District, records show.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A 35-story residential tower is slated for the heart of the Financial District, city Department of Buildings records show.
SL Green Realty filed pre-permits with the city for the colossal skyscraper at 185 Broadway to bring nearly 300 apartments to the neighborhood.
The plans call for a 404-foot tall structure between John Street and Maiden Lane with 242,000 square feet. Some 37,000 square feet will be devoted to commercial use and roughly 164,000 square feet for housing. The average apartment will boast 600 square feet with a total of 279 units.

Amenities for the luxury tower include a pet grooming center, health club and laundry room. Retail shops will occupy the building's cellar up to the second floor, the plans show.
FXCollaborative Architects will design the building.

The residential tower is the latest to join several steel and glass structures rising in the Financial District, including a 88-story skyscraper at 125 Greenwich Street and a more demure 25-story building at One Beekman.
An anticipated completion date has not been announced.
