Fire Near Staten Island Ferry Plumes Black Smoke: FDNY
The fire sparked about 10:30 a.m., according to the FDNY.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A dumpster fire sparked near the Staten Island Ferry Thursday morning, according to photos and an FDNY spokesperson.
About 20 firefighters rushed to 4 South St. about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the FDNY spokesperson.
Photos posted on social media show what appears to be a dumpster lit on fire, with dark black smoking rising above outside the Staten Island Ferry stop in Manhattan.

Preliminary reports on the Citizen App say the fire was near Bowling Green Park, but an FDNY official confirmed to Patch the fire was near the Staten Island Ferry. Citizen users posted videos showing the flames rising out of a dumpster and black smoke.
